In 2013, Theatre Nemo ran an animation project called Music Hall Delights.
This 11 week project was based on the Britannia Panopticon, which is the oldest surviving music hall in the world, and participants spent time researching its history and measuring it up to size, before creating a scaled model of the building itself.
This project saw the Theatre Nemo Community Animation group creating an animation, set in the model of the Panopticon with ghosts living there reminiscing over how they met and fell in love.
The story was well executed and imagined, which received a great reception at its premiere viewing. To accompany this, we had the Community Drama group performing skits and songs from the music hall era. Below are some images:
