Theatre Nemo’s 10th anniversary celebrations were held at the Scottish parliament on 28th October, supported by Linda Fabiana MSP. Joining us in our celebrations was Kenny MacAskill, Justice Minister who gave us a characteristically forthright speech on the importance of the individual building confidence and self esteem and having the skills to move forward taking responsibility for their actions.
Theatre NEMO are working in partnership with HMP Barlinnie and this event focused on the great work going on there.
Andy spoke of how he had been in prison 8 times and of his experience in attending Theatre NEMO how it has helped him come off drugs, reconnect with his family and stop offending he has been out of prison for 3 years and now volunteers 4 days a week.
Our community Choir helped us to celebrate by preparing a medley of great Scottish songs. Here they are performing Ae Fond Kiss
