Taiko is a very energetic and fun form of drumming and is also really easy to pick up the basics.

Working with our facilitators, participants will devise a performance piece over a 15 week block of sessions. We work hard to create a fun and welcoming atmosphere at our sessions, so it’s perfect for beginners as well as those with some experience.

The final performance will be for an invited audience of friends and family.

26th June – Exhibition of Work

1pm – 4pm

A celebration of some of the work we have completed so far this year.

As you may know Theatre Nemo delivers a lot of projects and every now and then we feel it’s important to celebrate the achievements of those who participate in our project.

This event will showcase the following work

  • Visual Art Exhibition – Exhibiting the work created during our last series of Visual Art Workshops
  • Triple Bill Animation Screening – This year we have been working in partnership with SAMH to run Animation Projects at our Studio, so far we have completed 3 short animations.
  • Live Music – Supplied by our Guitar Group who meet every Tuesday, the group have been learning for about 2 years now, and all their practice has certainly been worth it.

The event runs from 1pm – 4pm, if you are not able to attend the whole event please feel free to pop in when you can.

20th May – Taiko Drumming

On 20th May, our community Taiko drummers will be performing at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh for the Offender Employment Summit.

The Taiko group will be performing a five minute composition for the delegates just after lunch, a perfect way to re energise any event.

24th May – Questionable Answers

Our Sunday drama group have been working on a site specific piece of abstract theatre, allowing them to explore new styles of theatre and new ideas. Our new performance is a collection of ensemble pieces and short scenes using specific spaces at our city centre studio.

Doors open at 4pm on Sunday 24th May with a welcome and light refreshments, the performance will begin at 4:30pm.

Caledonian Creates is an annual exhibition of 4th year work in the field of creative industry within Glasgow Caledonian University.

Theatre Nemo have been asked to perform at the opening of the event.

31st May – Taiko Drumming

Our drummers have been asked to perform at this years Gibson Street Gala.

“The Gibson Street Gala is now a well established and integral part of the West End Festival. This will be the 10th year of the Gala. As usual we aim to please with great live music, stalls, children’s entertainment, art & design. Closing the road to traffic for one afternoon each year brings a very special family friendly feel to this popular neighbourhood.”
